Teenager Survives Scooter Accident

Just one month ago- it was touch and go for the young man on the left. A scooter accident in a parking lot on west Alameda Parkway had left him with a severed artery in one leg. But, 14-year-old Jake Schaefer was able to call 911 and firefighters with West Metro Engine 4 and Medic 2 arrived on scene.

Join Us for "Washing In" Ceremony for Tender 6

Join us for a traditional "washing in" ceremony for our newest apparatus- Tender 6. The tender is West Metro's first, and we'd love to have your help in placing her into service.

The event is Saturday, August 12 at 9am at our Station 4 - 13155 W. Alameda Parkway in Lakewood. Take a tour of the station, visit with firefighters, and see some fire engines up close!

West Metro Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

For the 25th year in a row, the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to West Metro Fire Protection District for the District's 2021 annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR). The report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate an agency's financial story and make it accessible to the residents and businesses it serves.

Medical emergencies can happen at any time. In West Metro’s district, nearly 70% of all our calls are medical emergencies. Sometimes, the situation is non-life threatening. But often- seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

West Metro January Board Meeting to be Virtual

The West Metro Fire Rescue Board of Director's meeting will be held virtually in January 2023.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 pm on Tuesday, January 17.
